The Time is Zipping By! 23 Weeks Along, 17 to go!

I can't believe I'm already 23 weeks along! Everything continues to go really well and although I am allowed to take it back at any point I wish, I have to admit that I love being pregnant! It's such an amazing experience. Our next doctor's appointment is next Monday. I look forward to hearing Baby Isaacs heartbeat. The big topic of the doctor's appointment will be getting the prescription for my back support and when exactly I have to stop taking the back medication. I'm crossing my fingers that this back support brace will really help me and take some pain away. I'll also update the doctor that my feet begun swelling last Friday night, and unless they're elevated majority of the day my what used to be long slim feet look like someone pumped them full of air! At first glance Mitch gasped and said "honey, I don't think that's right at all - should we call someone???" I have to admit my swollen feet did look chubby and scary, but after some elevation they decreased considerably. I'm taking Elizabeth's advice and elevating my feet as much as possible at work and at home and it really seems to be helping. I suppose I'll just embrace my new cankles and chalk it up to just another thing.

Baby Developments: Baby Isaacs maintains a fairly regular "kicking" schedule and seems to really enjoy kicking for a long period of time and stopping immediately as Mitch places his hand on my belly to feel him. As of today Mitch has not been able to feel the baby movements, but since I can really tell the baby's kicks are getting stronger and harder, I'm sure he will be able to feel them in the next couple of weeks.

Dad-to-be Developments: Mitch got to spend quality time with us last night, and was very excited to stop working before 9p.m.! Mitch spent a lot of time last night talking to the baby and rubbing my belly. Of course, the baby wouldn't move/kick at all for Mitch - typical. August is always a busy month for Mitch and the early arrivals have begun moving in and the first year students begin move-in tomorrow - pray for sunshine!

Side Note: CONGRATULATIONS to my Mom who completed a 3-Day, 60-Mile walk for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in Detroit last weekend! It was so great to watch her come across that finish line and accomplish such a feat! Way to go Mom - you rock!

I am sorry, but am I the only one who finds it funny that the baby stops kicking for Mitch :-)
Glad all is going well.

Bob :-)
