The ecocardiogram came back abnormally normal...which is good. He has a small murmur, but nothing they are concerned about and nothing out of the ordinary showed up. As for the breathing apnea tests, it showed that Charley doesn't necessarily have "apnea" episodes, but rather seems to have reflux episodes (similar to adult acid reflux). Reflux can't be "fixed" but there are things we can do to lessen it including elevating Charley while sleeping, and keeping him still for about an hour after feeding to prevent too much agitation.
We met with the doctor this morning and were told that now that we know the cause of his episodes, Charley will be able to come home on Saturday!!!!! He will be coming home with a monitor which he will have for the next 6 months. We will be staying overnight with Charley tomorrow night and then bringing him on Saturday. We are completely excited and overwhelmed with joy. Cross your fingers that nothing else arises that would delay his homecoming.
